Dr. Robert Barnet Riter
Assistant Professor
My work is primarily in the areas of archival studies and documentary editing, where I focus my attention on the history and foundations of archival and editing practices, with specific emphasis on questions related to the publication of original sources; additionally, I also have more general interests in library history, the history of collecting, and emerging interests in understanding the relationships that exist between the information sciences and the book arts.
I began teaching at SLIS during the Fall 2010 term. My doctoral work was supervised at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Information Sciences, where I specialized in Archival Studies. My work can currently be found in The Australian Book Arts Journal and The Primary Source.
